And now I find myself in Ottawa visiting my sister for New Years - quite pleased at finding squeaky cheese! (You can't buy real cheese curds in the stores in Newfoundland). Thankfully cheese almost always finds itself gluten free.
Thanks to Gluten Free Ghetto --> My newest discovery - New Grist, a sorghum and rice extract beer made by Lakefront Brewery, Inc. I've only indulged in one so far. Tonight being New Years eve maybe I'll get a better idea.... for now its only tied with La Messagere. Neither compares to Redbridge beer which I had the pleasure of experiencing while in Florida at Pizza Fusion...but that can wait for another day...
We ventured for sushi on my arrival to Ottawa last evening, Go For Sushi to be precise. The staff knew that the soya sauce is certainly not gluten free and I was disappointed to find out that the Miso soup has the same soya sauce added. We did indulge in salmon rolls and vermicelli spring rolls which were quite delicious. I picked up my favorite GF soya sauce at Loblaws for a topping. Lucky for wait staff, in addition to my celiac, my sister is lactose intolerant so dinner is always quite entertaining.
